Default Evo Bagger Price Check

Still looking for a bagger and from what I'm seeing the Evos are overpriced. With the twin cams getting older and the oldest "good" year being an 02, those prices are running between $7000 & $10,000. With that said you would think a carbed Road King would be in the $5000 - $6000 range. Sure not finding that on the East Coast. Been watching ebay and most auctions for evos are expiring with out the bike being sold. What do you guys think of this?

I don't know your location, but the middle of summer is usually not the best time to buy a bike. If your not in a hurry I would search more toward the holidays when daddy needs $$ for Christmas presents for the kiddies, and the wife says "It's time for the bike to go".

FWIW, I have had better luck on Craigslist than eBay. I prefer touching what I buy first.

Just my opinion but I would pay a little more for a carbed EVO than for an early Twin Cam. From what I have seen EVO's are not dropping that much in price. You can go to ebay and check the sold prices. That will tell you more than what is for sale.

I got an 89 a few months ago for 5500, figure I'll put another 2000 at least into it before I'm satisfied with it. A lot of guys are like me, would rather have a top notch carbed EVO than a new twin cam, and I suspect the prices will increase over the years, not go down, as the supply thins out. When Harley brought out the EVO FX's and FL's with that frame and belt drive, they were outstanding - and still are.

Respectfully disagree, although we are having our regular seasonal slide.

I picked up an '88 FLHP ex-police bike with > 21K miles on it a couple of months ago and the seller owned a covered trailer so I got it delivered it to my door for $5K. The seller had a few bikes and wanted to make room.

Try to sell any sportster for more than 4000, or a chopper for that matter, I have a 2010 street glide with 4900 miles that I can't get 15k. It may not be where you live, but here in St.Louis, there's a flood of bikes to be had cheap, Hell, I picked up a immacualate 2003 anniversary ultra, loaded with under 20k mileage for 9500 bucks, Harley still hold their value far better than any of my foreign bikes, but doesn't seem to be bringing top dollar like they use too, and for the record, low mileage evo bagers are still out there, I bought one from Miami florida, 98 flht, 9k miles for 8500 shipped, that to me was a good deal, just my two cents ! Ride safe,

Bike market sucks here in MI too. I scroll thru craigslist often and nice bikes that are price well just aren't moving.

Sell it down here around Springfield. Prices here are high and they sell. Denny's HD prices on new bikes are way over MSRP and it is reflected in the used bike market down here as well. I went out of state to get mine, as I usually do for any vehicle. DFW area is good and so is Louisville KY, where I picked my bagger up. I stole mine from a kid that was hurting for money.
