Default 1998 ultra classic

I ran across an old timer and he has this 1998 ultra that he bought new and he
has just been putting around on it since he bought it. So it works out that he
puts on maybe 30-40 miles average per month, some times more others less.
Tires look like they have been replaced, forgot to ask but will, paint is in great
shape. Didn't see any leaks or damage to the bike at all.

His wife wants him to stop riding it since I think he said that he's in is 70's
so she bought him a sports car.

I was thinking of getting it, what might be a good price? Didn't get good pics.

He would be better off to sell the wife and keep the bike and the sports car.....

I think it had somewhere 5-6k when I looked and figured that he put about 500 miles or
so a year on it. Last year he only put 200 miles on it. He said he just putts around on it in
town and is too old now.
It looks in great shape, this is why I am trying to get info and not let it pass me by if I
can get a good deal on it. Just trying to see what might be a fair offer on it.

5-6k doesn't sound unreasonable.
I say if you like it get it.

Have you checked it out in person yet?

I did look at it last year when I was doing a job by him.
I happened to see him and got his number and he said he was going to sell it. I am going by again so I can take my time looking at it.
I wanted to see what price range it should go for. I will offer a lower price and see if he takes it. If not I will look at something newer and closer to what I have saved up.

I wouldn't go much more than $6500, maybe $7,000. Offer him $3500 and see if he bites.

Yes he has the lowers too, they are wrapped up on his work bench.
The vette his wife bought him so he wouldn't ride the bike is perfect too, how can you say get rid of the wife if she buys you toys like that?
