Mufflers keep sliding back.

Mufflers keep sliding back.
 \\; I put some new Rinehart slipons on my Road King last weak. Love the pipes but the new muffler clamps do not seem hold tight enough. I torque them as hard as I can but they still move. If I use the \\;original clamps, they hold nice and tight, however they are rusty and look like crap. Any suggestions?

RE: Mufflers keep sliding back.
I reused my old clamps and they were rusty too. \\; I bought some Naval Jelly at auto parts store and it cleaned up the old clamps like new. \\; However it also removes the galvanizing or what ever the factory clamps are treated with. \\; \\; Anyway, that stuff will take rust off of anything. \\; I cleaned the old ones up nice and shiney and then sprayed them with wd40. \\; Its been a couple of years and I'll spray them every now and then with wd40 and they haven't rusted. \\; \\; Service manual says the clamps should not be reused but mine have held up well. \\; \\; You could probably paint the old clamps after cleaning with some high temp paint in color of your choice. \\;
