You could have put in a andrews21 cams, it would have been the same but maybe a little better.

I've done some research and it looks to me like the 204 se cam with 4 deg advance has better numbers than either the Andrews 21 or 26..
intake close exhopenint duration exh duration overlap int lift exh lift rpm high
andrews 21 30* 40* 220* 228* 18* .498 .498 5500
andrews 26a 35* 43* 226* 230* 20*.490 .490 5500
se204/4*deg adv 30* 48* 236* 240* 30* .508 .508 5500 /with 4deg advance, 5800 without

So it looks to me like the 204 has the same intake close for low end torque, .010 - .016 more duration in and out, equals more power.
10* - 12*- more overlap to helpcool(helps96 in)
.010 - .018more intake and exhaust lift while having the same rpm range(2000 - 5500 rpms) as the andrews cams..
Plus most HDdealers willstillhonor warrenity workif they do the install. I have also heard that the 204 are very quiet and dependable while some andrews owner have a little valve noise

So how is the andrews cams better when the numbers say different????

I just got back from hearing the bike with the cam and Big Radius's. It is absolutely amazing the difference in sound with the cams installed opposed to just the pipes. With the 96 idleing faster than the 88, the cam brought the lope back, and the engine sounds,,,,,authoritive.. like Iv never heard.
I will post the final numbers from the dyno latet this week and the atmospheric conditions.
Before installing cams other than screaming eagle read the chart OCT1949 posted it will clarify why the 204 is the cam to use.
come on spring!!!!!!!!!

the Andrews 21 and 26 cams are just plain smaller than the SE 204.

And they are intended as more of a heavy bagger cam. the 204 is alittle larger.

My friend runs the 204 in a Fatboy and it runs OK, he was having pinging problems with it last summer, and has to switch to a SE ignition box to pull some timming.

It ran a little better after that.

the main think is just to get the parts to work to gether, matching compression with the right cam. and getting the timming right to make the best power and torque.

I group the Off the shelf Andrews and the SE cams in the same "cookie cutter" cam file.

the Asymmetric cams will make the best, broadest torque curves.

When this is realized you will be calling HQ or Woods or R&R for your cams

You have a light bike like mine so, they should work great.

If you work your heads though, try the Woods T-9.

I also love comp cam products, and quality is second to none! but they are only cutting edge on Chevy parts.

everthing else is an after though to cash in on whats"IN" right now,and that includes HD cams.
