Default No "Window Sticker"

Recently, I moved to Greenville, SC, so I thought I would check out the local Greenville dealer and new touring line. Nice dealership with good quantity of new and hugh used inventory. Salesman checked in with me, but not following me around (just the right amount of contact). For some reason, they have a lot of trikes. First time I have been to a dealer with no prices listed on new or used bikes. I especially like to see some background on used bikes, at least the mileage to perk my interest. Anyone else see this happening at their local dealer?

You can press the trip meter on the left handlebar controls and the mileage will appear on the odo without the key inserted.

Most dealers around the Carolinas are not hanging tags on them anymore, at least around where I am in central NC.

I bought my first HD from May HD in Greenville SC back in the mid 80’s, but I imagine Walter May sold out a long time ago.

Help me understand all the ajida over not having tags on the bikes. Is it annoying? Sure, but if you are not familiar with the MSRP of a given bike, everyone carries their phones right? Just look it up on HD's web site. Granted that may not be the price they want to charge, but given most of yall on this site insist you wont pay more than MSRP for a bike, why would you care?

No price tags is just another way scumbag dealers conspire to rip you off. How hard is it to put a tag on a bike that lists the sales price and add ons? Not very. Dealers like you to have as little info as possible so they can pry every dollar from your pocket. After buying Harleys for the past 30 years, this is a fairly recent occurrence. Cars have Monroney price stickers on them only because its the law.

My local scumbag dealer also had no tags on any bikes and tried to charge me twice for freight and also for abs which the bike didn't even have.

I love Harleys but hate what a lot of the dealerships are like nowadays.

I'm not sure what's hard to understand - If Walmart didn't put prices on stuff it would be a bit irritating too. Sure, I could look the price up online, but it would seem a bit off to me to have to do that.

Same, same.

Used bikes should have prices. I can't stand auto ads where they say " call for price". What's so difficult with listing a price in the ad. Its just another bullshit sales gimmick.

Yeah, this pisses me off too, gives me a reason not to shop there. My local dealers post the prices on their inventory, the prices on these new bikes are so high now, that also gives me a reason not to buy one as well I guess...lol.

My experience with dealerships that do not display prices is they are pretty slimy. They are your easy in, all about the monthly payment, add in all the fees, options, warranties and make you want to jump in because if only $……… a month for. No mister customer you don’t need to worry about a 84 month loan. It’s an investment. Think about the fun and pleasure it will deliver. You’ll pay it off early anyway, right! You’ll trade it in 2-3 years anyway, right!

No price on the bike and they force you to sit down with a salesperson to actually get the price. I do not play that game.

I was at Riding High in High Point last year and they had a used bike that I really wanted to know the price on. This young new to sales kid was shadowing me like I was going to steal something. I asked the price on the bike and his reply was he did not know off the top of his head. Okay, that is understandable, but he never even made an effort to go get the price of the bike. I asked again and he said, okay come over to my little cubicle and I’ll get the manager. I replied no, I simply wanted to know the asking price.

That’s why I like Micah and the folks at Crossroads in Wilkesboro. No BS. I can have an out the door price in 10 minutes written on a piece of paper. If I have a trade add another 10 minutes. Then they show you the financing options and let you pick what works best for you. If you want an extended warranty they have options. If not, it’s never mentioned again.

We were up there this last Saturday. Prices on every single bike in the show room, new and used.
