what is the maxx cold cranking pressure i can run ?
live in alabama and i almost always have access to 93 octane . im looking at a 103 bb for my 07 electraglide along with a andrews 54h cam .
im trying to figure out what my maxx compression i can run without compression releases ?
also what is the maxx compression i can run with a good tune without pinging IF i get compression releases?

Any pressure at 180 +- starts giving problems but not all the time. 190 I would without reservation install releases. As for pump gas, depending on how well it is put together and the tune, you are looking at 10:1-10.5:1.

 

the tune, altiude and fuel quality all play a part here!

you could run close to 220 with relases and a tight tune. but 200 is the ceiling for the most part.

alot of guys prefere the 180 area so they dont have to downshift as much, they can just roll on the throttle in high gear and not get much pining.

 

We set most at 190-195.
On occasion, if the bike gets geared, (3.37 or more) then you can lean on it more, as it won't load the engine.

 

I just finished a build like you are planning. I used Screamin Eagle Flatops and the heads were set at 83cc, used a 54H cam, I had the compression releases installed.

 

how is it running and did you get it dynoed yet ?
your compression is around 10.2-1 isnt it ?

 

It runs good, Sunday I was able to put 30 miles on it. It has been pretty cold out. I won't be having it Dynoed until April. I want to put at least 500 miles on it first. It felt pretty strong but the Dyno will tell. According to the calc on Big Boyz, yes it is around 10.2-1
The compression releases help it start a lot easier, it also is going to be something to remember now. Have to get in the habit of using them.
