The s&s 570 is a very good low end cam for a bagger I prefer the fueling reaper 574 which pulls hard from the bottom all the way up. sounds to me like your dyno guy is not very good. this happens a lot. I took my bike down to thunderbird harley in
Albuquerque put a new set of heads and cams and ended up with less HP and tq than before they touched it. 81hp and 96tq on a 95". Took it to another tuner got 95 hp and 102 tq. Great on hills passing a truck fully loaded riding two up. now I am stroking to 103 we will see what happens next.

Good tuner is all the differances

Thumbs up S&S 570 for a Bagger

I realize this is an old thread, but I wanted to ask about your using the 570 and getting good low RPM torque (80 ft lbs and building from 2000 up), adequate for a bagger. I have 2 sets of CVO110 heads, and a set of 2008 heads ready with springs, and "touched up", as well as all the goods to build another 103. If compression is increased to 10.5 to one, will the torque curve move up in a more linear way (with a good tuner, of course), between 2000 and 3000 RPM? What would be the optimum CR with the '08 heads (with minimal porting) vs. the CVO110 heads? Would the 570's compare with, say, the new S&S 585 cams? I do not understand why S&S even made the 585 (and especially the 583 w/the short intake timing and duration; they appear to be "experimental" or perhaps EPA).
