Default pulling float bowl on SS Super G Shorty

I've got a 96CU IN Stroker on an electro glide sport. (FLHS)

Delcron Casing - revtech jugs and heads - EVO Rockers

I didn't build the bike.. had it for several years.

Typical Low/idle problems. Hit the throttle and it's ***** to the ball..

I suspect some of my problem might be in the cam - i can't say for sure it's cammed up but considering how hot the bike is.. It's probable

Idle situation is a little worse this year.. i pull up to a light and have to keep cracking the throttle or it loads up and dies..

If i set the idle mixture and tweak the low stop at around 1K RPM.. after riding for a while it will be way over the top idling at around 1800 rpm

I've sort of tweaked that problem out by running it and then making adjustments again to idle stop and idle mixture and barely taking the idle setting down - so i have some room at the bottom of the curve when its cold.

The only problem I'm finding other than it never has wanted to idle is .... it idles worse..

In reading other posts.. I'm going to give pulling the intermediate jets and the bowl and clean them really well.

then determine if i need to rejet the intermediate or low jet ( is there a difference).

What can i expect to find when i pull the bowl..

Am i going to need and gadgets or O rings before I get into this.. some carbs I've pulled the float bowl and never had a problem.. or is this going to be like a briggs and stratton - where i pull the bowl off and the gasget is F&^%ed up the minute you pull the bowl?

Any other insight??
OK thanks for any advise - I'm all ears!

Keep or get a float bowl gasket, just in case you tear the one on carb. You don't mention what exhaust you'r running. Some exhaust make these carbs hard to tune but not impossible. Also check for intake manifold leaks(sucking air).Pull the intermediate jet (this jet is about 2 1/2 " long)check the size and go down one size. You'r bike sounds rich on the intermediate jet.See what happens.
