What is the wire coming out of the front of the motor next to the oil filter on the right side of a 103 Dyna? I know it's a stupid new guy question, but please help a guy out. Just bought the bike a few days ago and there is a large stain already from seeping oil. Perhaps it is not torqued in tight...

 

Sounds like the crank pick up but its on the left front? If it is you prob need a new o-ring.

 

It is on the right as you are sitting on the bike, just right of the oil filter. there is probably 1/4 inch of threading protruding from the motor

I think it the oil pressure sending unit. Should be able to just snug it up unless it's leaking up past the metal wrench area.

 

Yep. You need a special sensor socket or a pair of channel locks. Is the oil comming out of the threads or around the small stud the wire goes on.
