Default crankcase seal replacement

Oil seal in crankcase leaks into primary. Can it be replaced w/o splitting cases? I opened primary to replace inner pri seal on starter , after a long time span I returned to finish job to see CC seal leaked ,. HELP plzz

No need to split the cases, it's behind the alternator rotor. I poked a hole in it with a scribe, ran a drywall screw in the hole and pulled it out with pliers. Several opinions about whether the lip goes toward the crank or toward the primary. I put mine toward the case and no problems.

There are lips going both ways. When you remove the seal with a screw and vise grips just install it the same orientation as the old one. I used a piece of pipe and gently tapped it in.

Lip side, the one with the spring, the other side is flat.

I sourced it through Napa via specks. I'll look it up next week. I'm about a thousand miles from my shop.
