Any chance you could use a high grade epoxy? They make an epoxy that head porters use that can take the heat.

Update:
Looks like the fine folks at Supertrapp are coming through for me. They manufacture the Street Cannons.
Talked to a great customer service rep named Bruce, and he was super responsive to my small, but frustrating dilemma.
That's good old fashioned customer service from Supertrapp, and much appreciated by me.
