2012 Street Glide frame replacement cost
Can anyone provide any insight as to the cost of a new 2012 Street Glide frame from the dealership and an estimate of the time to strip off all the parts from the old and install on the new? Had a driver pull out in front of me from the right trying to execute a left hand turn onto the road I was traveling. Driver was cited for failure to yield and blowing the stop sign. Down side is no insurance, no license, no habla englais.
My insurance is covering under UM and damage estimate from them is $8500 not including frame replacement. Had them transport to the dealer for an estimate and spoke with their estimator regarding the scratches on the frame and he noted HD WILL NOT do touch up on the frame scratches. He asked if I could live with the scratches or if not, his estimate will include a frame replacement. I told him no way I can live with the scratches on the frame as they weren't there prior to the accident. Hoping the cost of the frame and time to swap parts will take the overall estimate up to or greater than the 75% value of the bike so the insurance company will total it. The total valuation from insurance adjuster is $21,200, so I need an additional 6.5K in cost to get to the 75% value level.
