Default 1997 vs 2004 body

Hello all, im new to the fourm but have been reading from time to time just have never joined until today.I have a question as im a noob still learing Harleys. Im going to be getting a Fatboy sooner or later, and ive ran up on a 1997 model, now besides the engine is there any difference in the body/frame/forks then a 2004. the reason I ask is when put the tow side by side same paint colors for some reason they look slightly different but I cant put my finger on it. is there a difference or is it just me.

'97 has an Evo motor while '04 has a Twin Cam.

If I were you, I would get the Evo over the Twin Cam.

The two may look similar but they're really two different bikes. The motor, frame, brakes, electronics and tins are all different. There are very few parts that are interchangeable.

Body, frame different, front forks are similar but there are differences. Some things are the same, primary, trans, hand controls.

I'd ride them both before I bought one, not the same deal. You like you martini shaken or stirred?

I'm with NEXT IN LINE on the evo.

If the Evo floats your boat, go for it, but 2004 is not a bad year for TwinCams. I haven't had any problems with the '04 Road King that I bought new, and my brother didn't have any problems with the '04 Heritage that he put 98K miles on before he traded it off.

That.

I would take an EVO in any frame except a Softail.
