I live in Nederland, just south of Beaumont. When I go to Houston we usually go to the Hawg Stop. Look it up, they have bands on a regular basis and small get togethers from time to time. Also Woodys in Galveston is also a good hang out. As far as decent rides go how far are you willing to travel. Start looking into the Three Sisters. There are a lotta good local rides.

Houston roads are nuts. Stay in the HOV lane when possible. If you are looking to buy, go to Republic or Stubbs. If you are looking for service work, got to Mancuso Central or find a good indy shop. There is lots of good riding within a few hours of Houston.

Houston drivers are insane. That being said we are able to ride almost year round. If you're going to live near the Galleria just know that the west loop is one of the most highly congested roadways in the southwest. Rush hour begins at 6:00 am and lasts until 8:00 pm. When you get to town give me a PM. Best wishes on your move.

Houston is good times, Rides south down to Kemah to Galveston are a good time. North around Lake Conroe and my stomping grounds, Cut N Shoot, are Good times and Scooter Trash Friendly, Cleveland and Lake Livingston are good as well

Welcome to Houston. I'm a fan of Republic myself. Phil, the GM there is a great guy.

As for rides there are lots of great rides around here. I'm still learning most of them myself but will gladly show you the ones I know anytime.
