Welcome to the forum! The Powers That Be may end up moving your thread but I'm sure you'll get some pretty varied answers to this question, so I can only give you my opinion

I'm coming at this from carbed bikes, I just recently purchased my first FI Harley but my habit is to not ride until the bike has settled into the idle, on the FI Wide Glide once the idle has dropped from the high idle to the 1k plus or minus I'll let her warm up, just takes 2-3 minutes or so depending on air temperatures. On a carb bike I'd wait until I could ride without any enricher or with just a touch on, again just a couple of minutes is all it took...either way if you allow a warm up or not, don't run the bike hard until it's completely warmed up...

Keep it in a heated garage and it wont need any warming up....
If your garage isnt heated just start it up in the garage and let the exhaust warm your garage and that in return will warm up your bike...
Problem solved...Next....

Warm up? What's that? JK.
I live in south Louisiana. Generally don't warm up the bike at all - just get on and ride. On occasion, if its really cold, I do as TinCup says ... it just takes seconds to drop to idle, and off I go.

I always, without fail, warm my engine up as long as it takes for the oil to thin down enough to circulate properly in the top end and for the idle to drop into the proper range. I do this with all my internal-combustion-type vehicles. Elementary, Watson.

In the winter, I'll let the RPMs get down below 1200 before I put it in gear. But in Texas in the summer, it's already "pre warmed".

I do it by ear. Wait until as least SOME of the initial internal cold engine noises quiet down. Tells me oil is circulating throughout the engine and important metal to metal parts are lubricated.

I'm in Minn so we get temps like you canuks,,
I wait only a few minutes when it's cold,, 2-3 max.
By the time 3 minutes have passed you could have been on the road for a minute.
I'll start it, zip up the coat,, put the gloves on,, maybe light a smoke.
All I want is the oil to get up there and moving proper,, don't take much.

I will ride in temps which are above 32*F I do a rolling warmup, it takes about 2-3 minutes to get to the first traffic light leading out of the area I live in, I just let the bike idle while rolling to the light. I don't do any hard excelling until the engine is fully warmed up and that depends on ambient temperatures.

I warm it up for as long as it takes for me to cruise out of my development.
