Is it worh switching to S&S carb

is your motor stock? if it is the s&s carb can be a bit much. fantastic performance carb, can be a little funky on cold start, defiantly a carb that you can build into. there are options for your carb, dynojet I think has a performance kit for the kehein carb. You don't want to do a whole lot more without upgrading other area's as well, you will just wind up using more fuel, and even losing HP. do some more research, before making any impulse changes

About 8 years ago I put a Super E on my 1991 XLH 1200, after I got tired of screwing with the cv carb. It made the bike run like a bat out of hell, it used more fuel, but it never ran so good. Easy to tune, easy to install, and easy to set the idle for cold outdoor temps. For $500 it ought to be!!

S&S are as simple stupid a carb as it gets, they work well and require little if any tuning and no maintenance once dialed in and are an easy install for most people. Only down side may be a slight drop in gas mileage. Mikuni's while a good carb also aren't for the average no skill owner , they take a finer hand setting up & tuning and the slide does develope issues once they get some miles on them , just the nature of that configuration.

I have a '98 EVO(carbed) on a Heritage Softail Springer.
I installed the Dyno-Jet kit years ago, and I cannot say for sure that it is any faster (don't ride that way) I do see a difference in the way it idles, the pipes run darker, and it seems to run cooler.
The down side is, of course lower MPG's.
I have straight Samson fishtails, and I get nearly the same mileage on it as I do with my CVO Ultra 110, which is in the 39-40 MPG range.
I haven't had the Springer on the "open road" for years, and it would probably do better on fuel at sustained speeds, and I'm pretty sure the OEM exhausts would also improve the MPG's, but I love the low idle and the deep sounds of the straights.
