Default Blue strip on white walls

So I'm sitting down at one of the indies in town here waiting on my tires to be mounted. Have any of you guys ever seen a shop mount a new set of white walls without getting rid of the blue strip?

AFAIK, the blue coating on a new set of white walls is a preservative. It comes off when the tires are washed.

I've noticed the Indies are lazy about cleaning the blue off, if the Dealership installs the tires they do a better job of washing them. Just my experience.

Yeah it normally comes off pretty easy just never seen anybody leave it on. I found it amusing for some reason.

In my vernacular limitation of the English language we call that "lazyitis". I've had several young tire changers on my different cars try that, they got the message. Then they where schooled in customer service. Had an Indy shop take the new front tire off and re install it because of the directional arrows. I also mentioned to him "That's MR. ********, thank you very much.

Normally I would have raised hell about it, but the owner is a member of a club that shares a lot of the same social venues as I do, so I let it go this time. It kind of surprised me though. I've never seen that kind of laziness in a bike ship before.

So you want a much lower price than the dealer and the Indy to wash the tire also?

I want the indie to not half *** their job. Kind of like ever other indie shop I have ever been in. Don't be a jackass.
