Default Ground Clearance

In choosing a ride, so far all the cruisers, be it Harley, Triumph, Yamaha, Victory ect... all have some ground clearance scraping issues on the turns.

Some are minimal and annoying that someone may want to live with or it can escalate to destroying a peg to even causing a fall. This idea annoys me so much that I'm reluctant to buy a cruiser and just find a different type of bike I like with out the scrape issue. Are there any cruisers that don't have this issue?

Yes there are. They're called automobiles.

Pegs are replaceable. If you're scared to rub a peg or floorboard then a cruiser is not for you.

You need to make wider, slower turns compared to pretty much everything else with two wheels.

I've never bottomed out on my Softail as I ride solo most of the time. I have dragged my swingarm on occasion but nothing to get alarmed over. If you don't ride very aggressive I suspect you'd never drag anything.

Proper riding techniques and bike setup will mitigate many of the problems experienced on a cruiser styled bike with ground clearance issues. My Wide Glide certainly isn't my R1 that I recently sold but it's no slouch in the corners either

Proper throttle control and roll-on, corner entry, and body position all have a huge role in keeping the hard bits from touching down. Set your suspension to its stiffest settings, study cornering theory and practice it. The goal is a continuous throttle roll-on and a late turn-in. Don't just sit there on the seat; get your body weight to the inside of the turn...

On my sport bike, I am able to do well over 60 kph though a roundabout (38 mph).

On my Harley, I am scraping floorboards to the point that the rear wheel will lose traction anything over 20 kph (13 mph).

I hardly ever scrape my boards on my Dyna, and I ride very aggressively. I just lean my body more so as to minimize the need to lean the bike as much. Sometimes I even slide my butt cheek off the seat, too. As if I were riding a sport bike.

So perhaps you're scraping pegs because of your own inability to transfer your own body weight????
