Can anyone give me an idea of smoke conditions in Id and Mt around Hwy 12. I'm thinking of a road trip to the area in the next few days.

 

I am not sure how it is down Hwy 12 but it is now clear of smoke up here around Sandpoint. Hopefully Idahohacker will jump on here and answer your question.

 

With the drop in temps and several rain showers over the weekend, it's clearer than it's been in weeks. The firefighters are making huge gains in getting control over most of the fires.

Two weeks ago I lead a group of 31 bikes and it was like riding in fog it was so bad. Now? I wouldn't worry at all. Should be a gorgeous ride. Go!

Btw, I've been reading that various towns are already reopening picnic and camping areas!

 

A few weeks ago most of the smoke I found was along the Clearwater river fire.
