Default metal polish

Evening all, I have an 85 Harley with a bare metal Evo and I have been restoring the bike and am down to just finishing touches. The engine is in need of a good polishing and I was on the J&P cycles site and watch a video on Formula M metal polish and the demonstration was to good to believe but I took a chance and ordered it. I got it today and tried it out on a couple areas of the engine. I have to say this is the best and easiest polish to work with I have ever seen and does an unbelievable job. Anyhow just wanted to pass this along incase someone has an engine in need of a good going over.

I've always had good luck with Mother's Alum. and Mag polish. Then I wiped some Starbrite Marine polish on the metal, last a long time and leaves a good protective coating.

Been polishing aluminum for near 50 years and have tried everything available till finding Mothers used it for years. One day a friend turned me onto AutoSol been using it for the last 10 yrs or so. It too lasts a very long time and protects the metal. The main thing it gives me the color I have always enjoyed it was easier to use than Mothers besides.

As with so many options we have to find what works best for us. I will check out the video I'm always open for the latest and greatest thanks.

I use a jewelers polish that is much like the others mentioned. On aluminum the pink polish will turn black with use. It does not last forever but it will turn it into a chrome like appearance and leaves a protective coating after. I love the stuff. I buy it in a one lb can. I even tried it on a fish finder that I sprayed bug spray on which distorted the clarity of the face/ read out. Turned it like new. I've also buffed out some hazing on my clear coat from rain gear flapping on it all day.

Blue Magic. After the second time, you can hardly tell it from chrome. Then, just a touch up once a year.

Got a free sample of Flitz at the Milwaukee rally. It did a nice job on a grungy lower fork shock with not a lot of work. Both of these are a blue paste, and turn the rag black when it starts cutting the oxidation.
