Default Favorite time of year.

This is when the Florida riding season starts. When all you northerners are racking up the miles, down here its slow season. It's miserably hot, rains every day. Now the weather is perfect for racking up the miles. It was such a nice day when I woke up, I figured I'd take a ride. Before I knew what happened I was nearly 200 miles from home. I'd only planned on riding for a couple of hours, 8 hours later I made it home. Anyone else have this problem?

I'll be down there next month. I'll ride all winter long and part of the spring. Can't wait!

I was out for 6 hours today, it was still very hot but I love the heat so I don't mind. No rain till way after I got home.

Didn't have much time today. Did my 200 mile breakfast ride and came home. Rode 30,000 miles last year and didn't leave the state of Florida. Prime riding season is almost here.

Today was so amazing, it was almost spiritual. I did 46 miles this morning in the crisp fall air here in northeast Pennsylvania. The leaves are red, yellow, amber, almost at peak. Toss in blue sky, some lakes and streams along the roadsides...I coulda stayed out all day.

Everyday's a great Day! Especially when your able to get a couple hundred miles in. But to those less fortunate that have family, medical, money,or any other thing that gets in our way,as long as you wake up its a great day

Well, we in Florida are heading into our prime season alright. This summer was hotter than usual and I only got out for very early morning rides.Rode over to Lake Okeechobee Sunday and around it for a 200 mile ride.Might even have to start wearing a jacket come December.

Fall is quite possibly my LEAST favorite time of year. The air is cold and bitey, the wind picks up and only makes it worse. It's warm for about 2hrs a day (about the time I'm at work); the rest of the time the temp is either slowly climbing from the chilly morning low or rapidly descending. Everything looks like it's dying and the cold harsh reality of a winter right around the corner hits you square between the eyes.

Heat has never kept me off of a bike, but snow, ice and freezing morning temps certainly have.

Sigh.... only 8 more months until things get nice again.

I'm leaving before daylight this Thursday morning from Douglasville, Ga., a west Atlanta suburb, to ride down there for Biketoberfest, which I like better than reg. Bike Week in March as it's a lot easier to get in and out of the different venues, and Main St. since it ain't nearly as crowded as Bike Week, and not as many crutch-rockets, and looking at the 5-7 day weather forecast looks like the weather's gonna be great both here and down there.
