Default First Passenger!

I finally plucked up enough courage to take a passenger today. My 27 yo daughter. She rode on the back of a friend's bike first but then I figured I could manage to bring her back. Did about 30 miles and I-95 at 70mph. It felt fine though I was a little apprehensive having such precious cargo on the back of my bike.

She's been on motorcycles before and was a perfect passenger. It helps that she only weighs 125lbs. I'm glad I've done it so I now know I can take a passenger.

The challenges of riding with a passenger become more apparent at slow speed, highway speeds are the easy part.

I did have to start in the traffic of downtown West Palm Beach and at the end in a parking lot. It felt ok, no wobbles .

The lighter the load ,the easier it is to balance bike.

Always helpful to take a seasoned passenger for the first time you ride 2-up, that can actually teach you a few things...

I don't remember my first passanger but I've never had one that was a "bad" one. With my wife, I have to touch her leg to make sure she's still back there.

Riding a passenger has nothing to do with their experience OR size.
One of the heaviest passengers that I've even taken on a ride was the best that I've ever had on a motorcycle.

The main thing that they must do is NOTHING!

Sit down, sit up straight,.....and shut up, especially in heavy traffic!

I beg to differ, an experienced rider knows to hold still while stopped and at slow speeds. One time I took a gal for a ride who never ridden on back of a bike, I pulled up to a stop light and she was wiggling all over the place because she was so excited to go for a ride it damn near made me dump the bike. A good rider knows to hold still and maintain a good center of gravity so as not to throw off your balance.
