Question Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel

We're doing a 3000 mile trip this summer and will be returning to Florida down the east coast. We are thinking of going "over/under" on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel.

Watched a You Tube Video and now I'm not so sure. Anyone ever ride on it?

I have never been on it on a motorcycle but have been on it many times in a car or truck. It is a wonderful experience and a beautiful place to visit. My concern would be when you get to the Hampton Roads side and 64, it is always a mess until you get to Williamsburg.

Sure, it's a nice route. For a few minutes you actually can't see either horizon and the tunnels are easy. $13 to cross last time I did it (2014.)

Lived in that area for ten years when I was active duty.............Been across that many times in vehicles and on bikes. Dont sweat it, its a good ride. Make sure you go down through the Outer Banks of NC as well.........Two ferry rides you'll do that are awesome.

I would jump at the chance. I've crossed it many times but only in a chemical tanker. It's a must see. Incredible feat of engineering and the views are breath taking. I'm dying to go on the bike. It is a little congested on the South side. The Delmarva peninsula is nice. Going through tunnels out at sea is awesome and there's a restaurant on the South tunnel entrance.

I lived on the Eastern Shore (Quinby) and was based in Norfolk and Virginia Beach. I crossed it too many times to recall and even sailed over the tunnel part on the USS Guam and USS Nashville. I crossed it back in 1993 on my Softail and got salt sprayed on the lower sections due to large swells and cross winds.

I rode it in 2008. It was one of the highlights of the 4,000 mile trip.
