Default FatBob or Lowrider

Hello Everyone,
In the next month or so I'll be doing my motorcycle ridering course and soon to buy my very first motorcycle. Though, arguably, not the typical beginner's bike, I'm eyeing on the 2016 LowRider and 2016 FatBob. I personally like both, the chrome-filled-attitude of the rider and the black-accent of the FatBob. I'm not that tall nor big. Weighing in at 170lbs and 5'7, I would like to get an insight on which motorcycle best suits me. I plan to use this bike a lot. From work to a regular town rides to an even longer rides up the canyons. Thanks much for the help.

Really up to your choice of "style"...they're both Dyna (FX) chassis based bikes. Not much difference other than style.

With your height, take a look at some Softail models...sit in the seat, see how your feet feel on the ground. Softail models are lower...and if you like the look of a FatBob...you might like the look of a FatBoy.

It basically falls down to you to determine which bike suits you the best. . Personally, what works for me might not work for others, good luck. I might also add this, if possible, demo ride each bike and see which one feels the best to you, that's what others that I've known have done.

Well; so happens the wife bought herself a Low Rider and I bought a Fat Bob; but both are 08's...anyhow; the Fat Bob has a more "solid" feel on the road; quicker lighter steering on the Low Rider...most people probably wouldn't notice the difference, but we've done 30+ states on these bikes together.
Best take a good test ride if you can; the difference, of course, is that big front tire on the Fat Bob. You may notice it or not...

I suggest taking a test ride on both, then you can make a educated decision instead of going on what someone else likes. Good luck

The lower seat height, adjustable bars and mid controls on the Low Rider would probably suit you better especially as a new rider.

Low Rider, since it has mid forward controls and the seat is adjustable. I would say fatbob but when you compare that to the Low Rider S, you might as well get the Low Rider S

Thank you guys for all of the input. I will definitely take the motorcycle for a spin just to see which one actually fits right. I'll also try sitting on some of the softails to see if it's also an option. Really appreciate it and hope to ride one soon. Take care all😊
