Finally ran my wires through my bars....
And it kind of sucked.
I put Slim bars on my Heritage and wanted to try them out before I ran the wires through the bars. Well almost a year and 9k miles later I finally did.
I didn't realize the tank would have to come off(mostly). I thought I could reach the connectors without removing the tank...nope. Oh' well, now I know how to take the tank off.
It actually wasn't that bad just more than I expected but it sure looks cleaner. Now for new risers and a little shorter brake line.

I did mine back in '05. I liked the stock handlebar bend, so I drilled them on my brother's drill press for the internal wiring. I found out just how nasty stainless steel is to drill. Drilling the bars and cleaning up the holes took more time than the installation and reassembly. On an Evo Softail, the tanks are actual dual tanks, so I only needed to remove the right hand tank to reach the connectors.
I love the look, and I'm glad I did it, but I doubt I'd ever do it again. Just another reason to hang on to this bike.
