Default Chrome Parts in Dishwasher?

Title asks it all. Anyone clean smaller chrome stuff, like highway pegs, in dishwasher?

Seems innocent enough, but some of my ideas go wrong real fast.

Thanks, Sammi

Windex and a paper towel.

If they are really bad or greasy, Simple Green, a brush, a rag and thoroughly rinse.
Wax them when you are done.

Too much trouble to unbolt chrome parts to put them in the dishwasher.

I'd be real leary of that. Dishwasher soap can really do a number on stuff that isn't made for a dishwasher. It can remove or destroy a fine finish very quickly.

Load the bike in the back of the truck and take her through the car wash. Two for the price of one

Just make certain the OL will be gone for an hour or so. Also, don't use sink-type, like Dawn, dish washing soap. It suds like a SOB and will get all over the kitchen floor, taking, at least, an hour to remove the evidence (your kitchen floor will be cleaner than when she left, raising questions). Use regular dishwasher soap designed for China, if you feel soap is necessary.

If the OL asks, this is not my wheel, nor our dishwasher:

If the part needs a little more than normal cleaning, I like to use Nevr-Dull. You can get it at OSH and other places.

I can't say that I've washed any parts in any machine.

Nevrdull is decent stuff but I've found it can leave small abrasions in the chrome. Wizards is another product I've used for a year+ and it works amazingly. Get yourself some good microfiber cloths and you're set!
