Default Backing out of Stage 1

Thinking of taking my bike back to stock. Just seems like gas mileage was better at stock, and the bike was little smoother at slow speeds (1st & 2nd gear stuff). Sound is good. Very loud. Maybe a little too loud. Currently running Vance and Hines power duals, twin slash rounds, VO2 Naked, and FP3. Anyone else not mind a stock set up?

Reads like you have an improper tune.

Believe it or not you can run slip ons or other aftermarket exhaust with a stock air filter. Ive done it on two separate baggers without a problem and as you mentioned, gas mileage stayed the same as stock.

The problem is your tune. Mileage should increase with the Stage 1. If all you're doing is adding fuel, you're doing it wrong (no matter how many times you hear that you need to "richen it up" here).

Wish i had left mine alone with just slip ons. First i had the screamin eagle download done when i had my headpipe replaced. Bike started pinging real bad. Dealer never could stop the pinging. Next i bought a Power Vision and bike still pinged. Just sent Fuel Moto a third request for a revised map. Bike ran great before i had the stage 1 and new headpipe. Should of stopped at the slip ons and i could of upgraded the stereo with all the money i have spent trying to stop the dang pinging!

Just bought a new Ultra. Leaving it all stock except slip-ons. Flashed a Stock Improved tune from Fuel Moto and it runs super fine. The only question is the heat from cat- can I deal with it? But, last bike had full stage one with Power Duals and that bugger was hot and mileage was weak- ran real well though.

I got to agree with the others. Your tune sounds suspect. I had a bad idle lope from the factory on the new bike and it runs very strong now after the new map. Mileage- Who cares?

I have had 3 stage 1's on 3 different bikes. The first two were down with a SERT and Dyno. Bikes ran great, but never had better gas mileage than stock. Can you explain why the gas mileage should be better with a stage 1?

On my 06 ultra I did stage 3...larger throttle body.... Whole shootin match. extra power was decent but it developed stalling at idle that dealer never could fix. Never again. My 14 limited runs strong stock. Just put old RC slipons on for sound and that's it! had my money sink in the first bike. Don't need to go there again.
