Default What was your motivation to trade-in?

Honestly curious. What was your motivation behind trading in your older model for your most recent model?

1. Old one was breaking down?
2. You liked the new colors?
3. You like all the bells and whistles on the newer model?

Not trying to stir the crap just really interested in the different reasons.

I ended up selling my old bike for more $$ than was offered for trade, but was prepared to trade it in, so I'll start.

I had a 2005 Electra Glide Classic that I liked very much. What made me start looking was the improvements that came each model year since - 6 speed transmission and the new frame/wider rear tire being the biggest deals to me. I also really like the Street Glide look. What cinched it was finding out that I could afford to get exactly what I wanted.

I do a lot of long hauls and a lot of miles.

My Superglide was happy to go with me, but my *** ain't getting younger. I wanted a Road Sofa.

The Sportster wasn't large enough for both of us. Should have told her "too bad, bitch"

Wanted a more comfortable bike for touring and couldn't stand the way the previous bike handled in the twisties.
Sold previous bike myself but it took a year.

The new Touring Frame now handles properly (no bendy bit in the middle)

I didn't trade mine in. I think that I would have liked to though. So now I have a 99 and an 09 and I would like to find a new home for the 99 to help pay for the 09. Then again I'd like to be able to keep the 99, but just don't know if I'd ride it all that much. kinda got spoiled with the stereo and the ride on the SG. The season is still early.

I was tired of being the one who always made the group stop for gas. Those sportster gas tanks are way too small.

That and Black Ice Denim.

Wife was tired of no where to put stuff with our old LowRider, we did have rack behind her backrest, but it was not good enough. In 07 we stopped by our Reno dealership to pick up a part I had ordered, and the wife said "you got to see this one over here it even has bags to put stuff in." I love the 07 RoadKing Custom we have, and a good wife.
