Default Can anyone recommend a good Dyno Tuner in Northern Illinois Area?

Hey guys,

I'm going to buy a SERT and have my bike Dyno tuned over the winter. There are 3-dealers that I am considering in my area.

Dealer # 1- (closest) Kegel's Harley Davidson in Rockford Illinois.

Dealer # 2- Woodstock Harley Davidson in Woodstock Illinois.

Dealer # 3- Kutter Harley Davidson in Janesville Wisconsin.

I am looking for the dealership that has the best Dyno Tuner guy. Hourly rates are all pretty similiar.

Any recomendations among these three dealers? Or horror stories for that matter.

Thanks

When I had my SERT installed by Kegals in 06 Rich the service manager to me I would be better to take it some where else they did not have the technology to tune it. I know of a few guys from Rockford that take there bikes down south to Halls. I do know Kegals can build a great engine but there not known for tuning

Thanks guys, but I'm looking to stay a little closer and have the bike stored over the winter.

Most of the dealerships in my area offer free storage as long as you spend between 3-5 hundred bucks.

Of the 3 Kutters would get my business and I've done most at Kegals.

Kutters is known for engine work .

Woodstock is known for price gouging on bikes. ( sorry that sours me on anything else from them )

Kegals ............. I used to do a lot of business with them and we'll just leave it at that.

Ya better get it up there ( Kutters ) before Thurs ( predicting snow ....salt ! ).

Thanks, I was kind of leaning towards Kutters, I had heard that they did pretty good service work, but I wasn't sure about their Dyno guy.

I'm still gonna try and hold off for a few weeks though, still holding out for an "Indian Summer"

Hey, Im also in north illinois..Byron in fact..I would not recommend Kegels at all..have had about 5 different issues with them. If you want to buy a T-shirt..fine but they arent working on my bike. I would recommend Workmans in Rock Falls..They have some very knowledgeable people working there..they can make you some horsepower.

Thanks, it's funny you should mention Workman's, I had to go to Rock Island last weekend and I saw the sign for Workman's. I wanted to stop, but didn't have the time.

I'll check them out.
