Default First ride after shoulder surgery

What a great day, sun shining here in Nova Scotia. 14 degrees(63F)
First ride since having rotator cuff surgery on Sept 20th.

Felt great to ride again, shoulder was a little stiff reachin for 14" bars but I didn't give a chit.

Hopefully nice weather will hold

Hope everyone is enjoying their Fall riding season

Nice!

I go in on Dec. 1st for my left shoulder, was wondering how long it would be before gettin back in the saddle. I had my right done back in 2002, it was a bad one. Turned out to be a 4 hour surgery to reconstruct it.

Fortunately the left isn't as bad this time, so hopefully I will get back on the scooter as soon as you have. Are you doing the post surgery therapy? How’s your other shoulder?

Good luck and heal fast!

Guessing a recovery time is like asking which oil is better ( how did I manage to turn a surgery thread in to an oil thread LOL)

Anyways count on minimum 8 weeks if the surgeon is not to invasive and up to a year if he is.

Best advise I can give is get the sling off as quick as possible and start exercising.
Also I used a machine called a Hydro therapy pump. Basically it is a cooler full of ice and water with hoses that circulate the water around a pad on your shoulder. it is better than ie as you can put in on for hours at a time.
if you can get a hold of one I highly recommend it.

Good luck

Hope you all

These pumps are awesome. You'll go through alot of ice but man do they work well.

Thanks.

Actually I forgot about the cooler, I have one of those units stored away somewhere from my right shoulder surgery in 02'. Looks like I better dig it out.
