I have this set
I used it in a couple downpours last year and it worked well. I like how it has different material on the inside of the right leg that won't burn/melt. Nice feature IMO

 

Is this a joke? If not, here is what has worked well for me in some serious weather when a long way from where I wanted to stop. HD Overpass jacket and pants. Cost $150. They are black, gray, and silver. I would prefer orange or something brighter but this outfit has kept me dry quite a few times while touring.

Bryan if yo want the best that'll last you a long time you need to get raingear made with gortex. It's pricey but it's the best. HD has the PacLite with gortex and it's guaranteed not to leak. I got some a little while back but thank goodness haven't been caught in the rain yet. Stafford

 

bottom line is you get what you pay for. if you can afford it, get gore-tex. it's proven and it works. in my opinion, stay clear of pvc (poly vinyl chloride) rain gear because it doesn't breathe.

someone also told me "frog toggs" worked well. but frankly, with roland martin as a spokesperson and a product name like frog toggs, they can keep them. once again, just my opinion only.

 

I have two sets of rain gear...frog togs for summer time showers and some heavy duty monsoon type that I bought at Cabellas...doubles as cold weather gear

We have HD suits that have served us well for several years. The HD suits are a little more expensive than some, but they are designed specifically for riding. They have heat shields on the legs, stirrups tokeep the legsfrom blowing up, flaps over all closures, and they pack small for easy storage. A rainsuit is no place to try and save a buck asone could mean the difference between a minorannoyance and a miserable,ruined trip.

also, scored a tourpak on ebay for 295...and ultra king no doubt...been watchin and biddin for months and usually they go for as much as new....guess this one slipped thru the cracks...gotta have it painted and i'm gonna hack up my detachable sissy bar and make a(or try to) detach two up rack...it has lites but no backrest or upper luggage rack...anyway, i thought it was a good grab [8D]
