500cc Harley for India
I know there was a project by the MoCo to take a share on Royal Enfield' market in India, but i was hoping it would be abandoned.
Now I just saw this :
I hope it will never happen. It will water down the prestige of owning a Harley in my view. It will no more be that luxury, heritage carrier, quality BIG TWIN dream motorcycle it has always been....
I might be naive but I consider Harley specials, not just another motorcycle. If this project goes through I feel it will lower the class I believe Harley has always proudly maintained.
Those MoCo executives would sell their mother if it was to increase revenue-profits-bonuses. That's what happens when the founder family of a business is no more in control and able to keep the company faithful to its original vision.
Well, at least thes are my

I dont know, looks fine to me. Nothing wrong with designing and selling a bike that attempts to appeal to the local preferences and needs.
I read the article, the picture has nothing do to with any actual plans. Chill.

Looks kinda like a 1/2 a sporty. It won't be the 1st time they MOCO has tried some dumb *** idea. The past repeats itself and I imagine if they do manufacture it, it will go the way of the Aeramacchi, Golf Carts and other hair brained ideas they have come up with.

He wants everything to be a BIG TWIN. Does that mean he thinks Harley should not produce Sportsters. And he doesn't like change so where should they have stopped changing? Back with Flatheads or some other specific time in history?

Harley needs to respond to the consumer. I think the US could use a nice entry level bike, that attracted youngsters. GM dominated the world when it was Chevy,Pontiac, Olds, Buick, Cadillac in ascending order.

maybe they just finished the count of the inventory down in Milwaukee, they found a shelf just at the back of the warehouse full of old 492cc Buell engines, on the other side a few leftover XR frames and tanks...... usual tested formula of putting the leftovers together and .... voila'... a nice bike for India!!
