Default First riding day?

Finally can think about the first ride of the season! Getting a good rain washing the roads today and 60's in the forecast Sunday. I'm giddy!!!

Living in Virginia I did get to ride a number of times this winter but last Saturday was the first that was just over 60. Yep, a mile from my house I saw a guy, old enough to know better, riding a rocket in shorts and tee shirt. Guess I'm a candy ***, cause I had on full leathers.

Overall this winter cut my yearly average down by 2,000 miles. Cabin fever is harsh this year.

Hold on MN Roadking...the forecast is for that rain to change to snow. And we all know that snow = road salt!

Let's hope it doesn't change over! I'm with ya.

Supposed to get an inch or 2 tonight, I'm sure it will melt in the next day or two, but hopefully they're not dumping more salt on the roads tonight. I'm ready to ride!

My bike was in the shop most all of January but I got it back the last few days of the month, so that was my "first day of riding". And I've been riding it off and on since then. I don't know how anyone above the Red River stands it.

I'm lucky, the garage where I live has a washing station so I can give her a good bath when I get back. So the salt doesn't bother me too much. It's the sand and pot holes I'm more worried about.

I'm glad to read that the weather in starting to break in Mn. I would be going friggin' nuts if I couldn't ride for very long.

For me, as long as the temp is in the double digits, the sun is shining and the roads are clear, well, that's riding weather. Every week day. To and from work.

I been back in MI since the first week of feb. moved back up from NC. I have been out riding atleast once a week since I got back. Today it was sleeting, then turned to rain then snow for a bit. Got up to about 36 with drizzle so I did my daily errands on the bike. Cloudy, drizzle to sprinkles with a little rain and cold. Didnt stop me at all.

Enjoy Sunday, because the temperature is going right back into the sh*tter Monday and beyond. Cruel April fools joke. Haven't heard about delivery on my new scoot, but if it doens't come, I'll take the ricer out for ride so I can prep it for sale.
