Tire prices
So why do tire prices fluctuate so much from dealer to dealer? I am putting two new wide white walls on my RK and the 2 dealers here in town are $300 higher than the dealer in Rogers, AR. Same tires same everything except the price. SO, save $300 and get to ride over to Arkansas. That's a win win for me!!

Check around with the Indy's and see what they will charge to put a tire on. Around here the going price is $40 if they pull the wheel and $20 if you pull the wheel for a tubeless. Add $5 for a tube. Or change it out your self, That's what i do.

Our local dealer ( Brighton HD ) has always had great prices on tires. $197.00 out the door for a front thin WW Dunlop mounted balanced and free coffee.

I have an appointment at my HD dealer (Paris HD) this Thursday. Front and Rear tire: $330 Labor: $155 They matched the price I was going to order tires for, but that labor is a bit pricey...

I'm replacing the rear tire and did my shopping online. Prices ranged from $350 to $219. Put the $219 one in a shopping cart, printed it out and took it to both local HD dealers to see if they could/would get close. First one couldn't but the second one matched it. They're also doing a $49.99 tire install special.
I asked both parts guys if they had a problem with customers bringing in online deals and both said no. If they can match it and still make money they're willing to make the sale. Works for me.

WOW. Just called one of my local dealers (66) they priced me out front and rear wide white walls with a OUT THE DOOR price of $835. I called the Pig Trail HD and same tires OUT THE DOOR $585. Not even going to mention the other locals price, they must have thought I said wide gold wall tires

Check out Dennis Kirk or Bike Bandit. Both sell all kinds of brands & you'll save some money on the price, free shipping, & no sales tax. Then get an indy to install them, if need be.

Typical charge for a tire mounting is about $50 around me, but don't know if that includes balancing. If you can find some tires privately, you can get 2 new tires installed for a ballpark $300. Even if you have to layout more for tubes and balancing, you can still prob get it done for $400 or less.
Those $600-900 quotes are just absurd.
And while we're on the topic, I've got a brand new, white wall Dunlop D404 150/80-16" front tire (tubeless app) I'll let go for $80 + shipping if anyone is interested. Bought it as part of my front end swap project but went with a Shinko 270 instead.
