Strange, irritating problem solved.
I had a problem with my brakes that my indy couldn't figure out. When the bike got warm the rear brake would engage the rotor, turn the rotor blue from heat and warp the rotor until it looked like a soup bowl. I had the caliper rebuilt, lines flushed, new pads, new stainless rotor and bam, it would do it again. I went through four rotors and shoes in a row. I thought my brake lever was stock because it had the HD bar and shield so I didn't look at it closely. I recently switched from V&H Longshots to a ProPipe. Turns out that the ProPipe heat shield was expanding and not letting the NON FACTORY lever return all the way to the release position or else was actually causing the brakes to engage by themselves. We cut a notch in the heat shield and solved the problem. I told them I thought that was what was happening but they thought I was accidently resting my foot on the lever, anyway, it was a strange problem and I am really glad it is fixed. Evidently the previous owner installed the new aftermarket brake system and kept the actual factory pedal.

That's a LOT of parts to go through trying to fix a brake drag issue.
Sometimes throwing parts at a problem is not the best solution.
At least ya got it fixed!

That's one out of left field for sure. As for "throwing parts" at it- it doesn't seem that way to me? Rotors and pads were all he replaced and they were probably shot ftom dragging, not replaced to try and fix problem? I could be wrong.
