PRIDE of ownership?

PRIDE of ownership?
Is owning a Harley Davidson something to be PROUD of? I tend to think of taking pride in ACCOMPLISHMENTS. Naturally, I really like my bike and wouldn't want to own any other brand. But PROUD? I don't know about that. I'm proud that I was patient enough to wait until our family's $ situation was right before I bought a $14,000 motorcycle.
Where do you stand on the "pride" issue?

I guess it depends on how you define pride and in what context you are proud...
For example, one may be proud of their bike, car, or whatever, when around a group of people who share the same interests. You can take your car or bike to a swap meet and be proud of the appearance and the results of the work and time spent on your vehicle.
But being proud just because you own a Harley? Honestly, I would consider that vanity rather than pride. Which there is nothing wrong with, I guess. But it does seem a bit shallow, as just about anyone can own a Harley if you are willing to make high enough payments every month if you have bad credit or something. In those cases, it is likely a sign of your lack of sound judgement.
Or, like Prop said, you may be proud that you have saved enough and are at a point in life where you have worked hard and can indulge a bit.
But IMO, there really is nothing to be proud of, in and of itself, just for owning a Harley. Too many people own them.

Absolutely nothing wrong with pride of ownership. I mean, I earned the bread for my Harley, and have a right to be proud of it, deadly sin or not.
We all have pride; to say you don't is merely pride showing through your denial.
Heavy, man.

Could be you're UNDERthinking it.
Pretty much same page, I think.
