Default Sturgis adventure

This was our first trip to Sturgis, road the bike through Texas and New Mexico, even stopped at a volcano in New Mexico that we would never stop because we were always in a hurry when we in the car. Stayed in raton NM the second night and the next morning it was raining, foggy and cold, had about 160 miles on up to Colorado Springs to pick up my wife at that airport that afternoon. We did not have the correct riding gear at that time but we do now. Anyway we stayed in woodland park co. three days with some friends and went shot guns and rested. I could go on about all the rain in Colorado, the wind in Wyoming and the hell storm in rapid city South Dakota, but I won't because I loved every minute of it and my wife was a trooper she really enjoyed the adventure also.

We met a lot of good people, seen a lot of beautiful country and got tattoos in Hill City SD, it was a blast. We came back through Missouri and stayed the night in a Lodge on Mount Magazine in Arkansas it was great. We road 4400 miles and 19 days it was one hellofa adventure :-)

Capulin Volcano is pretty cool, huh?

And one of my favorite rides in Colorado is taking CO 67 north from Woodland park to Deckers and Pine. Beautiful area. Despite all the stinking rain we're getting this year (need it so bad, so not going to complain about it).

Capulin volcano was a nice stop, very pretty and a nice brake. We had planed to leave Woodland Park on through deckers and Mount Evans then over to Denver and on up to Cheyenne. But the weather was unpredictable that week so we took the ease route, but theres next year and Yellow Stone will hopefully be in there too.
