Default 89 FXRP CHP value

I would like to sell my 1989 FXRP CHP (Calif Hwy Patrol). How do I find out the value of this bike? Bought it from a dealer who had bought it at a state auction. Got it in '94 with 50K miles on it and have added another 70K touring the Western USA. Engine has been well maintained, but everything else shows a lot of wear and tear. Bike runs great.

In many parts of the country, you probably wouldn't get more than a couple of grand for this 25yr old police bike. However, you live in California where the FXR is a highly regarded and very sought after bike...especially this CHP version of the FXRP.

It all comes down to...the bike is worth what someone will pay for it. In Northern California, I don't see this bike selling for less than $6000...even in its worn and torn state (as long as the bike is fairly original, and the frame hasn't been touched).

There is always going to be some guy out there that is willing to spend big bucks restoring this great motorcycle. These bikes are becoming more rare (especially the CHP FXRP) as time goes on. I'm sure you won't have any problem selling it.

The NADA doesn't have your bike listed, but KBB does. This is the site. http://www.kbb.com/motorcycles/harle...edretailvalue/ The price is a average of what that bike has sold for. What you ask I guess is based on condition. ,,

Some ebay prices for that CHP fairing is $1500. Good find. Best Harley I ever rode IMO. Correct model is FXRTP.

Bob, I left a message on your phone. Found it in the superpages phone book. I look forward to speaking with you.

Just decided today to look into selling it, so it may be a little while before I set a value on it. I will definitely contact you when I do. I did receive your phone message. Thanks for your interest. I've ridden it throughout western Canada and down into Mexico, plus to Sturgis 3 times without have ever being stranded. Hard to let go.

I just bought this same bike, 1985 with everything still on the bike-lights, siren, fairing, etc. 33k miles and documented records and paperwork. Good condition parade bike. Paid $7500 for it.
