Sent the bill's author the following email:
I STRONGLY OBJECT to this legislation.
1) There are already federal laws in place that currently regulate vehicle sound limits. Additional state regulations will unduly burden businesses in our state, causing increased costs to be passed to Michigan consumers.
2) A $10,000 fine for individuals violating this legislation is excessive and extremely punitive.
I can't even begin to understand the thinking behind this legislation. Truck tires at freeway speeds emit noise levels higher than these proposed standards. What were you thinking? Unbelievable!
