Default after market speaker sound

Thinking about putting on a reckless fairing.right now I have the harley speakers that mount on my handlebars with a Memphis shades fairing. Has anyone done this transition or can give any opinions on doing this.dont want to waste the money if I'm not going to get better sound.

Fairing with 6.5 or 6x9 speakers and an amp will be a lot louder for sure and sound better than the little 3" or 4" speakers on handle bar systems. Buddy has a street glide with 6.5s and an amp and I can hear him behind me at about 55-60 MPH if he is jamming it.

A lot depends on your exhaust. I have the V&H Big Radius on my Road Glide and only hear noise at highway speed. I am in the process of upgrading to J&M speakers and amp which I am sure will help. Conversely there is an audio section here where you will get better advice.
