Default Need Induction Module Kit Part # 27200003

I have a 2009 Road Glide CVO with a bad Induction Module Kit, Part Number 27200003. My bike has been at the dealer since July and I've been told ow that Harley has announced that this part will not be available until November 8th, 2014. I called the mother ship and all they can do is tell me they are sorry which doesn't get me to work. Dose anyone out there have this part or know of someone who does?

If so, please contact me budmfcg@cfl.rr.com

This appears to be a common problem with 08 09 model bikes and is usually fixed by a HD tech who is NOT a parts changer that throws parts at an issue until it goes away. The pins in the TCA connector could be the issue.

my sources tell me there are 3 dealers in the US with this part # in stock. And it's now backordered everywhere else until 11-18-2014

CA - Bakersfield HD - 661-325-3644
GA - Augusta HD - 706-651-0444
KY - Lousiville HD - 502-634-1340

Just FYI also and might get you out of a bind if you can find one of these.

Original Part # is 27685-08
Superseded by part # 27685-08A
Superseded by part # 27200003

Thumbs down Still Waiting Too!

This problem also applies to 2010 models. Typically around 15K is when this part fails. I feel blessed that after my 3K trip to Sturgis that the bike literally quit, riding into my driveway. I ordered the part on 9/2. Was told 10/10 part would be in. Date moved again (and apparently this is the 3rd or 4th time it has slipped) now they expect 11/18. There were 221 backorders when I called on 10/10. I checked all the dealers listed on the thread. No one had them and one guy told me this was the 10th call today. I spoke to a buddy of mine in TN who had a good parts contacts. Yes, the Dealers are hoarding these and off the books inventorying them. He said that apparently HD had rejected the last batch due to QC.
I spoke to HDQ yesterday and their system still says they are scheduled for 11/18.
I will tell you that I have made several calls there and the same nonchalant response. We don't know, we cant help you, you just have to wait.
My frustrated response. This part has been broken since 2009 and you still cant get one made not to fail.
Once my bike is back running, I may just sell it. I'm totally disillusioned by HDs lack of customer service and ensuring its inventory control is working. It's not like I had a 2014 bike fail and they were just hearing of this. This is a 6 year old issue and HD still wont recall or honor any warranty.
That BMW K16 sure looks sweet.

Angry And Still Waiting...and waiting....and

Wait for it, Wait for it. Just called HDQ. Told part back order date moved to 1/18/15. Yes, you read that right. For me, that means nearly 5 months waiting. I know there were people who ordered at least 30 days before me. What a POS company HD. What a bunch a sheep we all are for buying into this cult. If I could sell this turd today I would. Selling my stock, cancelling my HD credit. I am done with this. Good luck to the other (at least) 221 other back order customers.

I'm in for a class-action lawsuit.

Angry Ya, still waiting for incompetence to self-correct

Follow-up - I was awaiting a call from Level 2 Customer Support from yesterday’s message. To no surprise, no call back. Called the L2 rep “handling” my issue. Pretty much got the old guy, burned out with his job, gave me the quote “what do you want me to do?” So I told him. Get me the name who is above you or in charge of ordering so I can get a reasonable explanation to what, why and when I may see my part (hopefully before Milwaukee thaws out). I was told, “I am the only guy you can talk to”. So the short of it according to the rep, “There is a casting issue, new date for delivery is 1/18/15”. The end.

Oh, and now there are 250 backorders to this part. Let’s hope HDQ in there already incompetent ways actually ordered enough to fill this backorder.

So now I am on a personal mission to get someone to explain how after 6 years, and a reoccurring issue every year to fulfil orders (look at the forums, last year someone waited 5 months as well) why someone still has their job at HD. In addition, I would encourage anyone waiting, and I can’t believe I am saying this, to write a letter to the CEO. I know from personal experience, I have had to respond to these and that was working for a Fortune 100 Company, so it does work.

Can you elaborate on this pin issue? The mechanics smokin' out back said something about wires likely being the case, but the "manager" making the phone call to me says its the entire throttle induction module. Is replacing the wire group something you've encountered before? Is this something a shade-tree mechanic can handle do you know?
