Hello everyone,

Bike is only firing on one cylinder. How do you check ohms on the coil on a 2001 FXDL. Do you check ohms across the secondary side by checking between the posts or to ground? What about the primary?

Pretty much do a continuity test - secondary hot lead to common ground (I believe) and primary to ground. Secondary will have a fairly high resistance, primary will be much lower. Of course, the coil could test good and still be breaking down when functioning - you may have to sub a good one to see. Sorry, electrical problems are a pita.
