Default Old style tour pak on 15 RG.

I traded my 08 SG for a 15 RGS and am having my tour pak painted to match the new bike. The other day I mounted my brothers tour pak on my bike just to see how it would look. I noticed that when I opened the saddlebag that it just touches the rubber bumper on the bottom of the tour pak. If I use 2 hands I can get it to open without touching. I figured that I would try to put some spacers between the tour pak and the mounting rack to raise it up slightly. Anyone have an old style tour pak on their Rushmore bike and experienced this? Did you use spacers to raise the tp?

I mounted an 09 TP on my 14 SGS. Lids BARELY clear the TP, but I've heard of others (you now also) whose lids don't clear. One solution I saw is someone bought the Kuryakyn TP adjuster. It raises the TP by about an inch, the only down side is it costs north of $200.00. Great if you would like to have one anyway, pointless if not. Best thing to do is go to the hardware store and grab 4 chrome spacers and some longer screws and you're set. 3/8' should be sufficient.

That's kind of what I figured I would do. I should have my tp later this week and will have to experiment with some spacers.

I have the old style on my 15 RGS. It barely clears the saddlebags as well, but does not touch.

Anyone got pics of there 2015 RGS with the old TP on? Curious how it looks. Probably hard to notice if you don't know.

I was going to to take the one off my '08 RG and put it on my '15 RGS, but a buddy talked me out of it (more importantly, he talked me in to selling the TP to him and for me to get a new one!! ha ha). Either way, I'm sure it'll work. I love my new TP better though. It appears smaller in size, but can actually fit more stuff inside.

^^^^^THAT

IMHO, the new TP looks a lot better. It looks lower and sleeker but is actually a hair bigger. AND it fits.
