Default Programming gps for trips

I'm planning a week long trip this spring and wondering what is the best way to program the gps. I've used the hd planner site a couple times but wondering if there is a easier option. I have a 2014sgs. Thanks

I'm lookng for the same information. Google Maps use to let you save your route as a .GPX file which could have been loaded into the map on the back but that's not an option anymore on Google Maps that I can see.

What's a good program (free) or app that I can use to create a route and save it as a .GPX ?

Thanks

Don

Route Converter is a pretty decent mapping tool that uses the Google Maps db (runs from an EXE file you download to your PC, but doesn't "install" as a stand alone software package would). I've been using it about a month now & am finding it pretty easy & versatile the more experience I have with it. It also has a support forum. Might want to give it a try:

Default Tyre

We use a free program called Tyre - it is a German based program. It very easy to use, easier than HD basecamp and other routing programs. You can just point and drag the route the way you want to go.

http://www.tyretotravel.com/download-tyre/

Is the link to download the program - We just use the basic program.

Also remember not to have more than 50 way points or your Infotainment system will lock up. The latest radio update says it can do 100 points, but anything over about 50 points freezes the system.

I have been using TYRE it works well just save the file as GPX When you go to import the file only select the file you named do not select all. A lot of the guys are using Garmin Basecamp. I have also used
https://www.myscenicdrives.com/road-trip-planner But it does not allow you to drag the road around.

Except you need a license to access the Garmin map db...
