Default What is causing my pain?

I have a 2014 Ultra Limited... I'm 6'1" tall. For the most part the bike was comfortable. I added Jaffee 10" Bagger bars to raise my hands a bit, highway pegs and floorboard extensions.

My problem is that after riding only an hour or so my tailbone starts to ache. If i go 2 hours, its painful to walk. I bought the HD Hammock seat (dealers around here have no demo program). Took it for a ride yesterday and it's WORSE than my stock seat. The only diff my wife noticed is that her seat is smaller with the hammock (she prefers stock). I'm going to likely return it ($580 with tax).

This has me wondering if my problem isn't something else? No issues when I ride in the car, or in my office chair at work, or any other time.

I need some advice for those who have been riding longer than me. I have 12K miles on my Ultra.

Thx

Look at a Rush Cycle Pedic Seat, might be an answer. JC

do you take any 'statin meds? the older Rush Cycle Pedic Seat was a little better than oem, but the passenger was
unbearable, unless they corrected the design or mine was made wrong, a passenger 5-8, 170lbs with a tour pac and speakers will not like it.They did take it back.

How you sit will contribute to the problem as well. Do you find yourself rolling back on your hips on the bike wereas in your car you are sitting more upright?

Ditto that ⤴

It's your posture.

EasternSP is right; seat posture plays a huge roll.

After three years on my former Wide Glide (which I thought was very comfortable), I found that I'm much more comfortable after hours of riding on my newer Street Glide! Obviously it's a very different bike overall, although I'll lend a lot of my comfort to sitting much more upright than before. It probably doesn't look as 'cool', although what's cooler is adding 3+ more hours of awesome scenery and riding!

Haha, good luck!

(If all else fails, maybe a custom seat? Memory foam/gel and maybe with more of a cutout/dip in the seat for your tailbone?)

I noticed you don't have a backrest. Invest in one, helped my back considerable. It keeps you from slouching in the seat. Nothing worse than back pain when riding. Good Luck!

These kinds of problems are hard to resolve without spending a lot of $$ on solutions that may or may not work. I can't ride a bike without a backrest. I had a lot of shoulder pain until I started using one. Hope you find what works for you.

Ride safe.

When raise you bars you sit more upright and weight shitfs back. I like a Corbin seat. Put 28k on a road King and so far 11 k on my new limited. I ride all day. Longest one day 750 miles no pain. On my sons street glide stock seat and 10 in bars I'm good for about an hour. My ride has 14in wild one cubbies. I suggest trying a different seat. Even a stock ultra. Designed for more upright riding postion
