I picked up my '14 FLHTK a few weeks ago and had the dealer make my tour pack detachable. In the process, I had a JM in fairing AM/FM/WB antenna installed and simply never put the CB antenna on.

Yesterday I popped off the fairing and put in the JM in fairing CB module and when I went to test the reception and my CB module seems to have vanished.
I did disconnect and reconnect the module as well as the radio itself.

In conjunction, I did also do the 1.18.1 update, but no one else has reported this as an issue.

Has anyone else had this issue? Hopefully it's a simple fix.

 

If you check before it is fully booted up you will get that message. I know from having to turn on and off the cb with old version software (1.17.1). Wait a couple minutes after riding and recheck. Mike

 

??? WTF? FLHTK already has a CB module; why are you installing a J&M CB module? Didn't even know J&M had a CB module that works with Rushmores?
This one makes no sense to me.

 

I believe he's referring to the J&M internal CB ANTENNA.

 

Well that makes more sense, but why did he unplug the CB module to add an antenna? Sounds like he may need to do a system reset.

 

Correct, the J&M internal CB antenna. I only unplugged it after it failed to appear in the comm section in an attempt to make the radio recognize it.

Where is the reset function? I'll give that a go!

 

I believe you need to go into the settings of the radio to make sure you have communications turned on.

 

Search of HDF will find several references. Not done this myself, but comments indicate it works.
