Sprocket Shaft Oil Seal on S&S for open primary.
I was reading in the S&S service manual and it stated that the engines are set up at the S&S factory for wet primarys. If you choose to run an open belt says you need to put in a "new seal with the lip facing the flywheels"..
Would this be necessary?
I plan to run an open primary....
Thanks,
Nate

Belt drive
The seal is the easiest part. You'll also need to replace the inner primary cover Trans input shaft bearing. The original one is for a wet system and the new bearing is for the dry belt systen. Depending on which belt system you use it'll give you the instructions neccessary to do the swap out. do your research some kits will actually change your primary gear ratio. I have switched to a belt drive and love it.

OK. got the rotor off and stator, now comes the seal, do I have to take off the drive sprocket spacer? If so how? or do you just go for the seal? if so how?...
