DD6 or OD6 couple things will decide which.

Stock motor? If not what kind of work have you done to it?

Aggressive rider or laid back touring kind of chap?

Stock with the exception of a breather kit and more gas to match my V&H Big Shots. When this motor runs out I am going to build it as much as I can. Not going to ever want a newer bike as I am a died in the wool carburetor kind of guy.

Club rider and I am a pretty big guy (6'4" and 320) so I have to get on it to keep my place in the pack from a stop or up a on ramp sometimes. Quicker up to speed and then cruise is usually the rule of the day.

Looking at the descriptions is it DD6? I like the idea of the straight cuts in the first three.

Sounds like the DD6 will work for you and being that you are a big guy I would go with the 3.24 first gear. This is the set up I have on my 96 Fatboy and I love it. We rate it up to about 130 foot pounds of torque after that we would want to see you in an OD6. But yea the first 3 gears are straight cut because those are the gears where you really lay the wood to it and then 4-5-6 are helical cut for quiet cruising. If you have further questions let me know.
