Default will this inner race bearing tool work?

This tool

http://www.ebay.com/itm/281105368720...S:1123&vxp=mtr

Is listed on ebay as fitting all 84-present big twins. However, the HD part number they say it replaces is 34902-84 whereas the manual for my 09 FLHRC says I should use 34902-C. I emailed the seller to ask if they thought it would work on my bike and they replied, "not sure." Does anybody here know if this tool would work?

Thanks

Steve

HHMMM I don't think it will the clamp that goes behind the race is to thick but I have been known to be wrong before,You could modify it to work or make a plate to work or use a dremel to cut a slot on your race and pry it off like I did. I didn't have a dremel before my IPB R&R but after I got it I use that thing all the time

The seller has 10,000 transactions and 100 percent positive feedback...Do you think that he is in the habit of selling something that doesn`t meet the description?

There is a lip on the tool that fits behind the bearing, the whole plate doesn`t.

Look closely at the pic.

Dan,

sorry - I'm not sure I understand you. Are you saying you think the tool will work?

The seller said he was not sure. So, you're statement about him selling things that don't fit the description is confusing. The ebay posting had conflicting descriptions...the part number does not match the service manual for an 09 big twin....but the posting says "fits all 84-present big twins). That's why I posted the question to start with.

He has 10,000 transactions and not a single negative review.

The seller clearly states that the tool will fit 84 to present 5 and 6 speed big twins...

How much proof do you need before you buy something?

Baker sells one for 275 dollars.........

Dan,

sorry if I am not communicating well here. I emailed the seller. I pointed out that his part number did not much the one in my service manual. I explicitly asked him if the part would work on an 09 FLHRC. His response was, "sorry, I don't know." Posting the question to this forum after such an email exchange seems pretty reasonable. Kaycee seems to think the tool will not work out of the box. I was trying to ascertain if you disagreed with him based on looking at the part geometry. I am aware that there are tools for near 3X the cost that will work. Just trying to save a few bucks here!

I have bought from him before, all good stuff. It should work because most are milled thinner around the space of the bearing. I have done from 80 to 13 with my generic similar puller from ebay. one thing i have found on trans tools is 5 and six speeds do not mean 07+ cruise drive, it means 6 speeds like jims and screamin eagle etc. I buy a lot from george's-garage and use his website for referrence. Well now that Dan pointed that lip out it MAY work, there is a lip on the plate that gives it a lip to fit behind the race. Like Dan said the whole plate does not go behind the race just a lip to be able to grab the race and pull out. Seems like a good person to deal with ,it's your call on whether to buy it.
