New Bars and Wrapped pipes on the Ol' Shovelhead
Ditched the goofy 16" apes on the FX and put some 6" drag bars on it. LOVE the new feel of the bike! Also, I wrapped the drag pipes to clean up the look of the bike. What do ya think?
I was considering a front fairing for it. Any advice on one that will mount to this set-up?
Secondly. I need to rebuild the front forks. Can ANYONE give me a breakdown or a link on how to do this and a kit for it? Front end is super sloppy.
Thank you!

Your bike your tastes man but wrapped pipes on a shovelhead to me looks like somebody is trying to play keep up with the latest fad the twinkie guys are playing with , doesn't always come off right .
The forks all I can say is get the factory manual , those are the very old OEM 35MM and they changed them a few times in the early years also they are real basic . Up side is if you need them I probably have a few sets of tubes for that both stock & 2 overs left over from the old days .

I like wrapped pipes and I hate apehangers, so I'm in agreement with your latest choices. Apes should have stayed in the 60's, now everybody has them. My 1975 FLH is dead stock except for turned out drag pipes and updated paint, and it always draws a crowd of gawkers everytime I park. Then they say, "Great looking bike but I want something more reliable." This bike has been running for 36 years with no work except tune ups and oil changes and brake pads. How reliable do you need?!

I mainly wrapped them because they were bluing so bad. I like it quite a bit compared to them not being wrapped. I have a new set of pipes for it if I decide I don't like the wrap...
Been looking for factory manuals for this thing, and people want a damn arm and a leg for one.
This bike runs alright. Def has it's bugs. Drips oil out of the tank, front cylinder burns oil and fouls plugs far too often and it is pretty damn slow... haha
But it's nice to have a "classic" bike sitting in the garage.
